UPIK® - Unique Partner Identification Key

How does the UPIK®-Search work?

When a D-U-N-S® Number is entered, the system checks whether this number has already been allocated in the worldwide D&B database and whether it is maintained as an active D-U-N-S® Number, i.e. as an active business.

When search parameters are entered, those parameters are matched online with the worldwide D&B databases and the data that is already verified in UPIK®. Matching rule: the more matching search parameters are entered, the more accurate the results and the lower the number of search results.

For performance reasons, the maximum number of search results in UPIK® is limited to 100 per search query.

When is a D-U-N-S® Number considered as non-active?

Non-active D-U-N-S® Numbers are not shown in UPIK®. D-U-N-S® Numbers are not active when no business activity can be discerned, for example, in the case of businesses being deleted from the register, bankruptcy proceedings that are stopped for lack of funds, or deregistration or dissolution from the company registry. Relocations across state borders, mergers or changes of corporate form may also fall under this.

When are there no hits?

You will not get a hit when no active D-U-N-S® Number or no UPIK® data record is found.
In some cases you can get no hits, when the search engine is currently not available.
